Open to process, continuous improvement & operations roles — UK

Mechanical engineer, designer and founder — building precise objects, garments and the systems behind them.

Chiggy (Emmanuel) Ogwo is a British-Nigerian MEng Mechanical Engineer (2:1, Nottingham Trent) and Member of the IET. He has worked across six high-speed filling lines at Kraft Heinz, supported industrial IoT deployments at Pressac, and founded OGW™ — an independent design office that has taken products from CAD to production runs with overseas manufacturers.

MetaMan_01

A reduced human form, sculpted and cast in mirror-polished stainless steel, released as a numbered run of 100. Taken from CAD to production with a manufacturer in China, with a separate packaging supplier and UK import. Landed cost modelled at £43.71 against £145 retail (~70% gross margin); first 15 units sold on pre-order.

Finding the hidden loss on line P16

Process Improvement Lead across six high-speed can-filling lines. Analysed line waste data and traced the biggest avoidable loss on the P16 Beans & Pasta line to checkweigher over-rejection of good cans — a critical control point. Countermeasures were put in place. I also ran Initial Problem Solving (IPS) on the line with shift teams — for example, tracing an infeed loss on the sauce filler to a can jam at the C009 combiner, then checking conveyor sensors and buildback speed.

Modular Camo Bomber

One jacket, three ways to wear it: bomber, sleeveless, or folded into a backpack. Designed as a system rather than a single garment.

Essentialist Archetype Tee

A double-layer garment in 250gsm cotton jersey: a long-sleeve base with a detachable vest, joined by concealed shoulder zips. The barcode graphic is perforated through the vest so the base layer reads through it. I authored the 14-page Rev A tech pack — bill of materials, construction callouts, artwork dimensions and graded measurement specs — with the concept chosen alongside the IZÉ team using a Pugh decision matrix. Sample in development.

Building the Pressac support site

As Technical Product Specialist for industrial wireless sensors, I built the Pressac support knowledge base — installation, commissioning and specification guides across the sensor range — and produced the sensor graphics used throughout it. I also connected the enquiry form to HubSpot with routing rules that prioritised bulk customers, cutting average ticket resolution time by about 40%.

BFF_01 — shoe model optimisation

A one-piece platform thong mule for Zellerfeld’s 3D-printed TPU process — open heel, toe post, a sculpted footbed carrying the OGW butterfly, OGW debossed into a grid tread. Before anything went to print, I ran a Gate 0 audit on Zino’s STL: repaired the mesh to watertight, confirmed left and right mirror within 0.07 mm, mapped wall thickness, and sectioned the platform. That produced a change list — toe post to 9–10 mm with fillets, a 3 mm floor on the vamp band, a lattice heel to bring weight under 400 g — and a five-gate test plan from Zellerfeld intake to a seven-day wear trial.
